I love these headphones, they are fantastic but they died after only 18 months. For a premium product that is terrible. The right speaker has stopped working and from looking online it seems to be a common problem with this model.

I bought them after I had a mega issue with my Bose headphone (I kept getting loud static in one speaker, and a known problem when you see the YouTube video on fault repairs). They do the job. I think the build quality is better than Bose and the after sales support way better.

Went to buy B&W but the assistant recommended I try several headphones. So I tested B&W, B&o and Bose. To my total surprise the Sony's out performed them all. And came in at £200 less. . True the B&Ws were very good and lovely build quality but the Sony's were acoustical better. Now there's a phrase I didn't expect to type.

Good sound however I find ANC is better on my WF-1000XM5's, maybe because I wear glasses most the time so there may be a small gap between ears and WH-1000XM5's. Convenient to slip them on and off though.

I am very unhappy about this as has the M2 version but they got stolen so bought these as a replacement and am sorry i did there is a whine in the background and whatever it is its makes them unworkable

Won't charge over one year of normal use

I bought the headphones from Amazon a bit over a year ago and I love it. It works perfectly and it's light. However, it suddenly happened today that it won't charge, I tried all cables and chargers with no luck. I contacted the customer service and went through the trouble shooting process with no luck. The customer service told me to use a repair service in New York that has terrible review on line and I have to pay for it. It's such a bad experience.

I wanted noise cancelling over ear headphones for a while, so long that the XM4 had been the new ones, with the XM5 release I did comparisons via youtube etc. I purchased direct from Sony with the XM5 in blue, they feel great, the app is good for adjustments to sound and the features, battery life is over a week for me using 3-5 times a day. The sound quality is the best I’ve used, they replaced AKG N60Nc that did me well for many years! I’ve already told others to get these, I’m very glad I did.

I bought the product 3 weeks ago. I love the ANC and the weightlessness of the device. But, for the price, the bass is kind of weak and the feel isn't too premium. For the Wh1000-XM6 try to integrate sensory bass or something. I'd also like if the spatial audio was actually built into the headphones. Final notice: please send me a pair of the next headphones (xm6) went it is released.

I’ve only just received this product and so far so good. The only issues I have is trying to navigate all the features. Also trying to register the device and getting my free music trial has been a big hassle. Getting through to someone who could help was a mission for those reasons and the fact that it’s taken me at least 6 days to get this far I would give the service a 2/3 .

It's worth the money. Lots of cool features and very comfortable. The only thing that I don't like is the head adjustment band. My previous Sony headphones had numbered steps, locking in place. Way more comfortable for quick put on. On these, every time I've to put them on, adjustment is a must.

They are great but if you have the X4 don't buy them. Not a big difference. They get oily as they touch your skin and a bit uncomfortable on the top of the head if you wear them for more than 1 hours but they still a wonderful headphones.

These are my first headphones in a long time. I've been looking for very good sounding headphones without breaking the bank. Researching and watching reviews for a couple of weeks, I recognised that these headphones were recommended by many and thought to buy them and hear them myself. The ear pads are very comfortable. The sound quality is amazing. Battery life is amazing and can get a couple of days of battery life depending on how heavy you use them. I recommend these to anyone look for them. Modest upgrade from XM4

My XM4 batteries were fading so I thought I'd move up to the XM5. Initially I was underwhelmed by the ANC which seemed worse than the XM4. Thankfully I eventually sorted this by adjusting the fit and wearing them further back on my head than initially felt natural. This also solved the annoying squeaking from rubbing against my glasses at first. Take the time to get the fit right and you'll be happy! The sound quality is a clear upgrade - music is actually enjoyable on these whereas I couldn't use the XM4s for anything other than background listening (I mainly used them for work). The ANC is harder to describe. The XM4s definitely cut out more in the way of bass frequencies, but the XM5s have a much lower level of white noise. When I go back to the XM4s it's clear they use white noise to disguise sounds to some degree, whereas the XM5s are noticeably quieter overall, even if that means you can perceive a touch more outside sound from time to time. Overall I am happy with the upgrade, but it took me a few days to be sure of it - hence 4 stars rather than 5. Touch controls and device switching are better and smoother too. I do hope the XM6 is a more significant upgrade when they arrive though!

Bad quality product

Just bought my sony WH-1000XM5 last june, and now its not charging after only 3 months. It still covered by 1 yr warranty but when they have assessed the product, it was mentioned that there is a condensation in the charging port area. I live in the UK and maybe the weather is changing very quickly. I havent used the product in a way that it will get wet and just used it on my everyday travel. Unfortunately, sony wont repair the item for free and is asking me to pay £165 for a replacement which of course im not happy. End point, got a new £250 headphone last june and now not working. I’d rather buy other brands of headphones next time such as beaths and jbl and will never but any sony products anymore. Not a good quality product based on my experience.

I purchased my Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones due to good reviews on independent websites. I have no problem with them except I am not convinced that the noise cancelling feature is as good as advertised. Also, I've come to the conclusion that on-ear headphones don't particularly suit someone who wears glasses (could this be the reason that outside noise "leaks" into the headphones when in noise cancelling mode?

Bought a few weeks ago, and they're really good. The noise cancelling is great, and I love being able to adapt the levels. Charge is really great. I don't use the touch function on the headphones but may give it a go, and I don't have Siri connected bc I saw other reviews saying it caused some issues. I really like them

I bought a pair of xm5s about 4 months ago the earpiece which you swipe up and down to change the volume kept going off by itself which was annoying john lewis and domestic and general replaced them about a week ago and the same fault occurred bit annoyed about that

I've had these for about 2 weeks now and have absolutely no complaints. Since the initial charge, after at least 1hr use daily, I am still to charge them a second time. Sound quality is better than any other pair of headphones I've ever experienced. Bluetooth connection is seamless and provides superb sound d but a nice added touch is that it still comes with a 3.5mm jack lead too.

Ive had these headphones for about a week and they are easily the best over ear headphones I've ever used. The sound quality is fantastic and the noise cancelling is second to non. Very intuitive and easy to use, probably easier than some other headphones I've used. The battery life is much better than previous Bluetooth headphones I've tried as well. I primarily use my headphones for commuting but I've been using these to just relax with and also to watch TV without disturbing anyone else in the house. I would recommend the Sony Wireless Noise Canceling Stereo Headset WH-1000XM5 to anyone.

I bought it a month ago. what ai do not like and I knew it before I bought it was the lack of bass. The MX4 have much better The noise canceling is even better than the previous XM4 superb amazing best well done top of the market. The call quality is way way improved (one of the reasons that I love it) I can call and I am heard super nice even in a busy environment. And a surprise was they automatically stop when you speak and I can hear very clear to comunicate fast again much much better than the XM4. And the tuch comands are more precise and better respond than previous one, The sound quality is a much better easy noticeable VS my XM4 super nice. I love them never regret that I bougt them.

I've now been through 4 pairs of Sony noise cancelling headphones, 3 pairs of the XM4 and now this pair of XM5 and they ALWAYS fail in some way. The three pairs of XM4s were because of TWO warranty replacements. Now, my XM5s which I otherwise loved and treat very well, are failing at the headband need the ear cup like many many others are reporting online. Sony is designing these to fail, it's obvious. They sound good but I simply cannot recommend Sony headphones anymore. The will fail in some way within a couple years. What happened to making quality products that last? Corporate greed plain and simple. sad. The last thing I'll say is not being able to turn off the touch feature SUCKS especially when every touch of the ear cup makes a sound prompt.

Have only ever used earbuds before , but after listening to my brother in laws apple headphones I decided to get some . Read varying reports , some mentioning probs connecting to android . After reading hi-fi reports on the Sony phones , best quality at the price range , I plumped for them . As good as my brother in laws phones . Cannot fault them. With noise cancelling in operation, complete quiet from external noises . Would recommend them to anybody , using apple or android.

One ear stopped working after a year of ownership, Sony said it was still under warranty but after being sent off to their repair centre they said it isn't under warranty and it will be £100. Buy a different brand
