How to enable digital audio output for a CD/DVD Drive in Windows XP?
Enabling digital audio output for a CD/DVD Drive in Windows XP.
1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel window, under Pick a category, double-click the Sound, Speech and Audio Devices icon.
3. In the Sound, Speech and Audio Devices window, under or pick a Control Panel icon, double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
4. In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window, click the Hardware tab.
5. On the Hardware tab, in the Devices box, click to select the desired CD/DVD drive.
6. Click the Properties button.
7. In the CD/DVD Drive Properties window, click the Properties tab.
8. In the Digital CD Playback box, click to select the Enable digital CD audio from this CD-ROM device box.
9. Click the OK button.
