Why does the system fail to recognize the floppy disk drive in the docking station sometimes?

Why does the system fail to recognize the floppy disk drive in the docking station sometimes when I carry out the following procedure?

    --Procedure--
    1) Set BIOS to default values on the BIOS setup menu (use [Get Default Values]).
    2) Start Windows before connecting the docking station to the computer.
    3) When Windows starts, connect the docking station.
    4) Double-click on the [My Computer] icon on the desktop.
The system recognizes the docking station but the [1/3 FD] icon is not displayed.

When you start the docking station for the first time or set BIOS to default values on the BIOS setup menu (using [Get Default Values]), the system does not recognize the floppy disk drive if you connect the docking station to the computer when it is in the operating mode.

Therefore, you should connect the docking station to the computer first before turning it on, and from then onwards, the system will recognize the floppy disk even if the docking station is connected to an operating computer.
