Scan Disk does not normally finish on my VAIO computer.
- Scan Disk does not finish.
- When I am executing Scan Disk, it reaches a timeout after the repetition of 10 times to result in an error sometimes.
Error message (in the case of Windows Me):
"ScanDisk has restarted 10 times because Windows or another program has been writing to this drive. Quitting some running programs may enable ScanDisk to finish sooner. Do you want to continue receiving this
warning?"
Finish the programs in operation (stay-resident programs) in the task tray and running applications, and then execute Scan Disk again.
Click either the [Yes] button or the [No] button to continue ScanDisk.
When the Windows system, running software or stay-resident programs have written data to the drive more than 10 times during the execution of ScanDisk, this error message appears.
If the error message appears, click the [Yes] button or the [No] button to continue ScanDisk.
* Once you click the [No] button, the error message will not appear again. If you feel it troublesome to read the error message, click the [No] button.

In case that it takes time to complete ScanDisk, cancel the execution of ScanDisk. Exit running programs and those operating in the task tray, and execute ScanDisk again.
