After the installation of Windows® XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), why does sometimes blue screen appear and the computer may not switch to power-saving mode when an IEEE 1394 devices is disconnected?

After the installation of Windows® XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), blue screen sometimes appear and the computer may not switch to power-saving mode when an IEEE1394 device is disconnected.

- If the computer is switched to hibernation mode, a blue screen may appear showing the STOP error message below.
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC00000005, 0x804EF844, 0xF89463FC, 0x00000000)
- If the computer is switched to standby mode, the display will turn off but the PC will not switch to standby mode.

This symptom is a known issue afer installing the Windows® XP Service Pack 1.

If it occurs, please try to disconnect the IEEE1394 device and re-connect it again.

Note: Remove the IEEE1394 device before moving the system into the power saving mode. This may prevent the symptom from occuring.
