Why can't the file that is attached to the e-mail be opened with Outlook Express 6 after Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows® XP Service Pack (SP1) is installed?

    Err Msg: As the following attached file is not safe, access from the mail was cancelled.

    This symptom occurs because the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be infected by a virus option is automatically selected when Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP Service Pack (SP1) is installed.

    To avoid this symptom, please follow the steps below to disable this option.

    1. Start Outlook Express 6.

    2. Click the Tools tab and click Options.

    3. Click the Security tab and disable the b>Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be infected by a virus option.

    4. Click OK.

    Note:
    When a sender sends an e-mail with an attached file written in the Rich Text format, the receiver may not be able to receive the attached file sometimes. Please ask the sender to change the mail format to Plain Text or HTML and resend it.
