How can I enable Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi)?

VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) or Wi-Fi Calling is a telephony service provided by your network operator. It means that your network operator provides a voice call service using Wi-Fi®.
In order to be able to make calls with Wi-Fi Calling some conditions must be fulfilled:
Note! Contact your network operator to verify what is valid for your Xperia™ device model.
- you have to use a phone that supports Wi-Fi Calling.
- your operator and subscription (incl. SIM card) must support Wi-Fi Calling for the device model you're using.
- depending on operator, your phone must sometimes be operator-branded and/or use operator-customised system software.
- your phone must be in range of a Wi-Fi network.
Android 12 or 13 or 14
To enable Wi-Fi Calling
Dual SIM users
- Find and tap Phone .
- Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Settings → Calling accounts → Select a SIM card → Additional Settings → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
Android 10 or 11
To enable Wi-Fi Calling
Single SIM users
- Find and tap Phone .
- Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calls → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
- Tap the switch to the right of the Off text to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
Dual SIM users
- Find and tap Phone .
- Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calling accounts → Select a SIM card → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
- Tap the switch to the right of the Off text to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
Android 8.0 or 9.0
To enable Wi-Fi Calling
Single SIM users
- Find and tap Phone .
- Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calls → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
- Tap the switch to the right of the Off text to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
Dual SIM users
- Find and tap Phone .
- Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Calling accounts → Select a SIM card → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
- Tap the switch to the right of the Off text to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
Android 6.0, 7.0, 7.1 or 7.1.1
To enable Wi-Fi Calling
- From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
- Find and tap Settings → More → Wi-Fi Calling. If Wi-Fi Calling isn't available, contact your network operator.
- Tap the switch to the right of the Off text to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
To make a Wi-Fi Calling call you need the recipient’s phone number.
Note! The Wi-Fi Calling icon may have different colors, depending on the operator. It also may not be displayed at all, depending on the operator.
