The Google Assistant comes up even when I don’t say "Ok Google"

IMPORTANT: This article only applies to specific products and/or operating systems. Please check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article.

This issue can occur if the phrase Ok Google comes from the TV, for example during a commercial. The TV's Built-in microphone might hear that and react to it. If this happens, on the remote control, press the BACK button to cancel the Google Assistant ready status.

    Check the TV position setting:

    1. Open the Settings screen.
    2. Select Sound or Display & Sound.
    3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Ambient Optimisation → Acoustic auto calibration → TV position.
      • Select Sound → TV position.
      • Select Sound adjustments → TV position.
      • Select TV position.
    4. Choose your TV position depending on your TV menu options:
      • Choose Front Position Style or Back Position Style/Wall Mount.
      • Choose Table-Top stand or Wall Mount.

    Notes:
