    (To reproduce the symptom)

    1. Connect a Sony digital video cassette recorder to a computer.

    2. The "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box appears and "AV/C tuner" is detected.

    3. Click the option button of "Automatic Search for a better device (Recommended)" and click "Next".

    4. When the "Windows was unable to locate the software for this device" message appears, click the "Finish" button.

    5. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon located on the desktop and click "Properties".

    6. Click the "Device Manager" tab.

    7. An exclamation mark "!" appears on the "AV/C Tuner" icon.

Since the exclamation mark "!" that appears on the "AV/C Tuner" icon on "Device Manager" does not affect the operation of the computer/software, you may use the PC as usual.

[In case you use the SONY digital video cassette recorder]
If the Windows Me is installed on your computer and you first connect to the digital video, "Add new hardware Wizard" dialog appears and "AV/C Tuner" is detected. In this case, please select "Automatic search for a better driver (Recommend)" and click "Next". "Windows was unable to locate the software for this device" appears, however, there is no problem to use the DVgate program.
