How to set up Wi-Fi® service on the Network speaker system.
NOTE: If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the instructions supplied with the product.
When setting up the network speaker on a wireless network it is important to understand that the network environment may be different. This solution will help in the set up with 3 different environments.
Using the supplied CD-ROM on a computer with a Windows® operating system.
IMPORTANT: When performing this set up, it is important to use the setup disc or installation disc supplied with the speaker. A message that the speaker cannot be found may appear when the wrong disc is used.
- Make sure that the computer is wirelessly connected to the active Internet network.
- Connect the AC adaptor to the speaker.
- Load the supplied CD-ROM into the disc drive on the computer.
NOTE: If the program does not start automatically click the NS_Setup.exe file from the disc drive. - Follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation.
- Once the installation is complete, click Play test sound to confirm that the installation was successful.
Wireless connection using a mobile device:
IMPORTANT: The ability to connect to a wireless network using a mobile device is not available if using the SA-NS300 or the SA-NS400 network speakers.
- Connect the AC adaptor to the speaker.
- Install the appropriate application for the mobile device being used.
Manual setup using an Access Point Scan:
NOTE: Write down the Wireless network Name (SSID) and the Security Key (WEP or WPA) prior to following these steps.
- Connect the AC adaptor to the speaker.
- Connect the speaker to the computer.
- Select Sony_Wireless_Audio_Setup from the network list.
NOTES:
- If using a Apple Mac OS, click the network icon on the top of the desktop screen.
- If using a Windows OS, click the network icon on the Start bar. - Access the Sony network Device Setting screen.
- If using a Apple Mac OS, start the Safari® Web browser, and select Bonjour under Bookmarks . Then select the speaker.
- If using a Windows OS, start an Internet browser and enter https://192.168.100.1 in the address field. - Select the desired language from the Language Setup screen.
- Select network Settings.
- Select the appropriate SSID and enter the Security Key .
- Select Apply .
- Select OK .
- Reconnect the computer to your network.
Using the WPS push button method .
- Connect the AC adaptor to the speaker.
- Press the WPS button on the access point.
- Press the WPS button on the speaker for 3 seconds.
- The LINK indicator will light up green when the connection is made.
Using a wired network .
NOTE: Only the DHCP or Fixed IP methods are supported.
- Connect the AC adaptor to the speaker.
- Make sure the computer and router are turned on.
- Connect the speaker to the router using a LAN cable.
- Connect the router to the computer using a LAN cable.
- Turn the speaker on.
- The LINK indicator will turn amber when a connection is made.
