How to play music through the Network speaker with a Windows® operating system.
IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the instructions supplied with the product.
NOTE: You can playback audio content from a DLNA® compliant server by using the Network Audio Remote application (app).
Using a computer with the Windows® 7 operating system (OS) :
- Using the computer, click Start.
- Select Control Panel.
- Select View network status and tasks.
- Select Public Network.
NOTE: If Public Network does not appear on the screen, continue to step 7.
- Select either Home Network or Work Network as appropriate.
- Follow the instructions that appear. When complete either Home Network or Work Network will appear under View your active networks.
- Select Change Advance Sharing Settings.
- Select Choose Media Streaming Options.
- Make sure that Media Streaming is on. If it is not turned on Turn On Media Streaming will be available.
- Select Allow All.
- Select Ok.
- Select Allow all computers and media devices.
- Select OK.
- From the programs menu of the computer, start Windows Media Player.
- Turn on media streaming.
- Select the desired music file or song..
- Right-click the mouse and select Play To.
- Select the Network speaker.
Using a computer with the Windows® XP OS or the Windows Vista® OS:
- Using the computer, click Start.
- Select All Programs.
- Select Windows Media Player.
- Select Library.
NOTE: If using a computer with the Windows XP OS, skip to step 11.
- Select Media Sharing.
- Select Networking.
- Select Customize.
- Make sure there is a check mark next to Private and select Next.
- Make sure that Private appears next to Location Type and select Close.
- Make sure that Private Network is displayed and close the window.
- Make sure that Share my Media has a check and select OK.
- Select the Settings option next to Share my media to:.
- Make sure that Allow new devices and computers automatically has a check and select OK.
NOTE: You can also listen to audio using a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) controller.
