VAIO Overseas Service offers you with repair services at no charge* in designated countries for one year from the date of purchase of your VAIO PC.

This service is specially offered** to owners of VAIO notebook computers purchased from Sony’s official VAIO distribution network in Singapore.

** You can purchase this Service only within 60 days after the date of purchase of the Product

1. How to purchase this Service?
You can purchase this Service only within 60 days after the date of purchase of your VAIO PC.

(1) You can purchase the Service at Sony Style Stores (together with the VAIO PCs for which the Service is available).
(2) If not purchased together with the VAIO PC, you can purchase the Service at the Sony Service Centre within 60 days from the date of purchase of the relevant VAIO PC:

  1. Walk-in Purchase (Nets/Cash/Credit Card payments)
  2. Call-in Purchase (Cheque/Bank Draft payments)

After the purchase of the Service, you will receive the following :

  1. VOS Sticker – Dates of purchase of your VAIO to be filled up by shop front service staffs on this VOS sticker and paste on your VAIO set. (in the event that purchase is a “Call-in Purchase”, made with Sony Service Reception, the VOS sticker and service guide will be mailed to you).
  2. VOS Service Guide - will be filled up by the shop front service staffs and be given to you as reference for the countries in which the Service is available and other details. (in the event that purchase is a “Call-in Purchase”, made with Sony Service Reception, the VOS sticker and service guide will be mailed to you).

4. Details of Service Procedure
(1) Service Procedure
*The VAIO Overseas Service logo sticker must be placed on the VAIO PC and must contain the actual date of purchase in order to be entitled to this Service.

(2) If additional charge required for repair
Depending on the nature of the problem, it may be necessary to charge for the repair (more details available in the Terms and Conditions)
In such a case, Sony will take the following actions.

Step1:
Sony will contact you before beginning the repair and inform you of the estimated repair charge

Step2:
You can choose from the following options

- Repair
A) Charges related to the repair may be different from what is charged in Singapore due to exchange rate, spare parts price, etc.
B) Method of repair fee payment depends on the country in question.
C) Repair fee will be charged in the local currency of the country in which the VAIO PC has bee checked-in.

- Do not repair
A) Sony will deliver the unrepaired VAIO PC to the location that you had previously informed the service centre of.
B) Method of shipping fee payment depends on the country of the service centre.
C) Shipping fee will be charged in local currency**

* Available payment method may differ by each country, please check with the local service center for payment details.

7. Applicable models

Current models on sale through Sony’s official VAIO distribution network in Singapore.

*VGF-AP1 is not applicable to this service.
** The type of service, pick-up or carry-in, depends upon the region in which you need service. You will only have the choice according to the local service policy. Liability of the VAIO PC during transportation in case of loss will lie with the shipping service providers.
